DC Apprenticeship Academy Celebrates Class of 2016
A diverse group of 12 men are seated in the first several rows of the construction lab at the Academy of Construction & Design at IDEA Public Charter School. Draped around their shoulders are gold stoles representing the hard work done over the years as registered apprentices in electrical, carpentry and roofing. The magnitude of their accomplishments is in the numbers: completing 144 hours of classroom instruction and over 2,000 hours of on-the-job training in apprenticeships each year – all while working full time. Through their efforts, they have become the latest class to graduate from the D.C. Apprenticeship Academy. READ
